How to properly dismantle your display without ruining it

Posted by Exhibit Wholesale on

Without a doubt, one of the most stressful aspects of running a kiosk is its installation and dismantling. There are so many things can go wrong at both of these moments. During the installation, you might realize you are missing parts or you might even break something while trying to fix something else.

The dismantling process is a little bit more tedious because you want to be extremely careful to not damage your display along the way. Here are a couple of tips on how to properly dismantle your display without ruining it.

Take images once it is assembled

Once your trade-show display is completely assembled, make sure that you take proper images of every angle of the trade show kiosk. The reason for this it allows you to know where everything goes and will give you an idea of how to easily dismantle it without ruining certain key parts. This is also great if you want to know how to reassemble your outdoor trade-show displays.

Have a Plan

We cannot stress this enough. Before you and your staff begin ripping key pieces of your trade-show exhibit apart, you want to have a plan. The plan should consist of how the booth should be dismantled and where to put the parts you remove. We recommend laying them out by sections; this will make packing easier.

Assign a role to your staff

Don’t just let your staff begin removing parts from your trade-show exhibit. Instead, assign them a role in its dismantling. When assigning a role to your staff members, only have two people per role. This will ensure the least amount of hectic moments during the dismantling process.

Remove loose ends first

When we say loose ends, we mean items, such as retractable banner stands, exterior light fixtures, or removable counters. If you remove these items first, you could prevent a heavier item from falling on top of any other moving parts your exhibit may have.

Always supervise

If you are having a trade-show dismantling company disassemble your kiosk, you will always want to have a staff member supervise. You may want to write instructions on how the disassembly should be done. But, in our opinion, that is not enough. You do not want to leave anything to chance. Instead, you want to be there to make sure it all goes smoothly so you can use your trade-show booth again.

Take your time

Dissembling your booth cannot be rushed. You will want to take your time and really remove everything with care. Although you may be tired and exhausted after a long day, removing every piece of your booth carefully will guarantee you can use the booth again because everything will remain intact.

Your trade-show booth is essentially the main attraction at your exhibition, so you will want to treat it as such and make sure you are able to use it again without having any wear and tear. Following these tips will help you do just that.
